About Joy

I have been working as a Registered Nurse for 25 years, first having  trained in General Nursing and then going on to mental health at the internationally renowned Maudsley Hospital, London. During my career I met the founder of the Gateway Clinic, an NHS clinic offering Chinese Medicine. I noticed the great benefits Traditional Chinese Medicine has to offer. I discovered first-hand how a more integrated approach to health can lead to a greater sense of wellbeing and an even higher level of health, sometimes lost to conventional medicine. For this reason, I decided to study Acupuncture, obtaining a 2:1 Honours degree from Westminster University.I set up my own practice in London and treated people with acupuncture at events for Southwark Social Services, Alzheimers Carers Group and Lambeth MIND.

My aim is to use a holistic approach, drawing upon my experience as a General Health and Mental Health Nurse and using that knowledge alongside this ancient medical system. I have a special interest Women's health and  treating Anxiety and Depression with Acupuncture. I am passionate about Chinese Medicine, with it's deeply spiritual connection to physical and mental wellbeing.
